WordPress Can’t Cope With DST?

WTF? I just noticed when posting my little iPod touch missive that the time was an hour off. Thinking I must have set my time zone incorrectly, I went to the options page and took a gander. Right there it had my timezone offset at -6, which is correct for Central time. But it appears the system doesn’t correct for Daylight Savings Time.

This seems like a dumb, small thing to omit. I’m very happy with a free blogging engine, but let’s face it – if Live Spaces can do this correctly and be a crummy MS product, why can’t a super cool tool like WordPress?
